PREVENT THE ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE TODAY WITH THE OPERATING
The search and rescue work in the avalanche of Mount Cook was suspended today due to inclement weather. Wind gusts over 50 mph and persistent snowfall prevented the work area will continue today with the scheduled tasks, and forced rescuers to retreat to the base of Villa Futalaufquen to ensure safety.
First thing tomorrow will be an evaluation meeting to determine the level of safety at Mount Cook, and decide the strategy work.
